Housing Services

Elim Housing manages general needs housing, supported housing, intermediate tenures and shared ownership properties.

General Needs Housing

We have general needs accommodation in seven different Local Authority areas including Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset and South Wales.

We offer a range of accommodation from one bedroom flats to four bedroom family houses and we are able to house single people, couples and families.

Most of our accommodation is owned by us.  However we do lease some properties and we also manage some accommodation on behalf of other landlords.

Our general needs accomodation is let through the Local Authority, usually through their Choice Based Lettings scheme..

We aim to work with residents to sustain their tenancies and we often work in partnership with other agencies to assist this.

Intermediate Tenures

We have a small number of flats that we let on intermediate rent. The rent charged is more than a general needs tenant would pay but less than a private tenant would pay for the same property.

Shared Ownership

We manage a number of shared ownership flats in Bristol and North Somerset. We part own some of these homes and manage the rest on behalf of other landlords.  You can find more information on our Shared ownership page.

Supported Housing

We have supported housing schemes in Bristol , Gloucester, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.  Our Support services section has more information about our schemes and the services we offer.

Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation

Elim has a clear aim to increase the number of homes we own and manage, and the provision of homes for the Gypsy and Traveller community has an important part in this.

Since the initial decision was made to seek HCA funding for the development of Gypsy and Traveller sites in 2012, Elim now owns or manages over 60 pitches in North Somerset, BANES and Bristol, and the total Gypsy and Traveller portfolio amounts to more than 12% of our housing stock (excluding supported accommodation schemes). We are soon looking to expand this service over an additional two local authorities.

There are currently two members of full time staff dedicated to the Gypsy and Traveller Service, they are supported by our housing and customer service team who provide a maintenance service and cover for periods of leave.
