The Rental Exchange

 

Elim Housing has teamed up with Big Issue Invest, part of the well-known Big Issue Group and Experian to take part in the Rental Exchange.

The Rental Exchange is a way to strengthen your credit report without you needing to take on new credit. The scheme enables us to share details about the rent you pay with Experian on a monthly basis. This is then included in your credit report, meaning you will then be recognised for paying your rent on time

The key benefits are seen to be proof of financial reliability, access to cheaper credit and automated evidence of identity and proof of address. 

The Rental Exchange letter [pdf] 101KB we sent to all Elim residents includes more information about the benefits of the scheme.

We will automatically share our residents tenancy information with Experian, including their track record for paying your rent and service charges to us.  Residents are able to opt out of this scheme and can do this by contacting us before 19th February 2016.

Elim and Experian, will make sure that resident information is treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act so residents can have peace of mind that it will be kept secure and confidential.  Resident information will not be used for marketing purposes.

Tenant profile questionnaire

Residents living in our general needs, shared ownership and Gypsy and Traveller accommodation will shortly be receiving a tenant profile questionnaire from us.

Making sure that we have accurate information about our residents and their households means we can understand how our residents may be affected by the changes in both welfare benefits and social housing.  We can use this information to support our residents through the changes as well as to help us make sound business decisions.

All residents who complete and return a survey by Monday 14th March will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three  £50 prizes.

The surveys have been sent out with a prepaid envelope so you do not need to use a stamp to return it or if you prefer you can complete the survey online using the link at the end of this article.

Review of Centigen cleaning & gardening contract

Residents at schemes where Centigen provide communal cleaning or grounds maintenance services are being asked for their views on the service.

Centigen FM have been providing services to Elim properties since July 2015 and as part of our ongoing commitment to making sure residents receive good value for money and a good standard of work we are asking you how you think the new contract is going.

Residents living in schemes in receipt of services from Centigen were sent a survey with their most recent rent statement.  This should be returned by 15th February in the prepaid envelope provided.

Out of hours repairs

 

To improve the service offered to Elim residents we will be changing the organisation which manages your Out of Hours repair calls from Monday 22nd February 2016.

 

For all emergency repairs outside of office hours from Monday 22nd February 2016 you will need to call:

0808 169 2910

This number is free to call from most landlines and mobiles.

 

A repair is an emergency if it is a danger to the health & safety of our resident(s) or the public, of where failing to carry out the repair could cause significant damage.  For example a burst pipe or a serious electrical fault are both emergency repairs.

If you use the out of hours service for non-emergency repairs you may be recharged the full amount of the costs which we incur.  You will also be charged if you knowingly give inaccurate of misleading information which results in our operatives attending a non-emergency repair outside of office hours.  For example, if you describe a small containable leak as a burst pipe you will be charged for this.

 

For repairs which are not emergencies please wait until the next working day to Report a repair on 01454 411172.
