Gardening & Cleaning services

We completed the review of the gardening and cleaning services in our general needs accommodation earlier this year.

The aim of the review was to improve overall quality of the services based on resident expectations, quality and value for money.

As a result of the review we have appointed Centigen to carry out the gardening and cleaning services in all of our general needs accommodation.  Centigen are a subsidiary of Two Rivers Housing, a charity that provides homes for low-cost rent and helps to develop communities.  All of the surplus generated by Centigen is gifted to Two Rivers.

Centigen’s contract starts on 1st July but they have already started work on some of our sites and are bringing them up to a good standard as demonstrated in the pictures below of Leslie Green Court.

Board Member visits to schemes

As you may know Elim Housing is led by a voluntary board of 12 members. The Board meets at least four times a year and its role is to oversee all our activities including monitoring performance, planning for the future and agreeing policy.

Our current Board members have said that they would like to find out more about the properties owned and managed by Elim, as well as meet some of the people who live there, so we have arranged a number of these visits to different locations.

Below is a list of which schemes we will be visiting along with the date of the visit. We will be writing to residents of the schemes included in the visit to let you know exactly when we will be at your scheme.

Zero Tolerance of Loan Sharks

You probably know someone in your area who can help you out with a bit of money when you are strapped for cash.  They are loan sharks and the  worst person you could turn to when you are struggling with money.

Loan sharks are unlicensed and are lending money illegally. They can then use threats, intimidation and even violence to enforce their debts, leaving their victims living in fear.

We have signed up to the Zero Tolerance to Loan Sharks agreement in Bristol and are working with The England Illegal Money Lending Team, Bristol Housing Partnership and Bristol Credit Union to help combat loan sharks in the Bristol area.

A Credit Union account is a great way to save but also a gives you peace of mind knowing you can get loans from a reputable organisation.  To encourage residents to join the Credit Union, the first 200 Bristol residents to sign up for an account (between 02/06 and 31/08/15) will receive a £10 credit.

If you are worried that you have borrowed from a loan shark call Illegal Money Lending Team hotline in confidence on 0300 555 2222.
