Our Dry Houses are based in Central Gloucester and offer 8 units of shared accommodation for men and women recovering from substance abuse. To be suitable for this accommodation, you will need to be able to demonstrate a commitment towards recovery, with evidence of at least 8 weeks complete abstinence.
You’ll be supported through your recovery by your allocated Support Worker, who will develop a support plan with you to help you return to independent living.
Referrals are accepted from a number of support agencies who work with recovering addicts. Call the Deakin House Team on 01452 528883 for more information.
After a few months George decided to start working for a few hours a week. He wanted to practice his existing landscaping skills and volunteered his time to build a patio in the garden of the Dry House. George produced a plan including estimated costs and Elim provided the materials, the garden is now being used once more by the residents.
After several further months George decided it was time to move-on and found a private rented place to share with a friend.
