Elim Housing has officially joined the Places for People (PfP) Group, strengthening its ability to deliver high-quality homes and specialist support services across Bristol, Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.
The merger follows a comprehensive period of negotiations, due diligence and Customer consultation, bringing Elim’s 900 homes into a Group that now oversees 262,000 homes across the UK.
From 1 December 2025, Elim Housing becomes a subsidiary of PfP, gaining the financial resilience, scale and national resources of one of the UK’s leading social enterprises while continuing to deliver support through its established local services—including homelessness prevention and specialist accommodation.
Greg Reed, Group Chief Executive Officer at Places for People, said:
“Welcoming Elim Housing into the PfP Group is an exciting moment for us. Both organisations have a proud history of supporting the City of Bristol and surrounding areas, not only through the provision of social homes but through vital services such as homeless prevention.
“Elim’s deep local roots and specialist expertise make it a natural partner, and together we can expand our impact and invest more confidently in local Communities.”
Paul Smith, Chief Executive of Elim Housing, said:
“Elim Housing has always been ambitious for our Customers and Communities. Becoming part of PfP gives us the stability, scale, and shared values needed to achieve those ambitions in a challenging environment.
“This partnership strengthens our ability to modernise homes, grow our specialist services, and continue delivering meaningful support to the people who rely on us. We are excited about the opportunities ahead.”
Elim will now begin transitioning into the PfP Group over the next year, eventually operating under the same name while maintaining its strong local identity and service approach.
