Novers Hill is a new collection of six Shared Ownership units, consisting of one and two bedroom flats, and a two bedroom house, all with on-site resident parking.
The site is progressing well since build began in June 2019, with build completion still anticipated for early Summer 2020. Building work on the unoccupied site has been able to continue during Covid-19, with only a skeleton crew working, to ensure safe practice in line with current Government guidelines. The build team were able to take advantage of the good weather recently, completing the roof on two of the plots to ensure there would be plenty of time to dry the buildings out, ready for the next stage!
Through the Shared Ownership scheme, buyers will be able to purchase a share of the property outright (or with a mortgage) and pay rent to Elim Housing on the remaining share. Additional shares in the property can be bought over time, up until the point that the buyer owns 100% of the property – this is known as staircasing. This is an affordable way for first time buyers to get on the property ladder, as a smaller deposit is required upfront. By 2024 Elim Housing will have delivered 120 new homes for affordable rent and ownership; these will be equally split between homes for affordable rent and Shared Ownership properties.
